Biomethane refinery Barsikow
For the first time in Brandenburg, a project has been implemented with microturbines combined with a biogas treatment plant. Greenvironment will install a microturbine CHP plant in the 24,000 square metre biogas park.
The thermal energy in the exhaust gas stream of the microturbine will be used as process heat for the biogas treatment plant. The treatment is based on the principle of chemical scrubbing (amine scrubbing). The aim is to provide an autonomous process heat supply for the treatment plant through a heat-controlled combined heat and power plant with integrated microturbines. The electric current generated will be fed into the network of the local power supply company. Here, microturbines with their high thermal efficiency offer a clear competitive advantage, which significantly increases the overall economic efficiency of the biomethane production.
Based on the input materials: maize, whole plant silage and dry chicken droppings, from the summer of 2011, 8.4 million cry standard cubic metres of biogas and 3 million dry standard cubic metres of biomethane will be produced here annually.
